Help · Drawings & documents

Upload a whole drawing set as one PDF and Konverge splits it into sheets, reads each sheet number from the title block, and tells you when the set is ready. Upload a new revision of a sheet and choose what carries over.

Who can do it
Anyone with Create records and access to Documents & drawings can upload drawings and revisions (owners, admins, managers and members by default).
Where
Web and phone. A large set is easiest from the web.

Konverge doesn’t show drawings as PDFs. It prepares each sheet on our servers the way online maps work, so an A0 sheet opens fast on a phone and zooms to full detail without loading the whole file. That preparation is the processing you’ll see after an upload.

Upload a drawing set

On the web: open the project’s Drawings tab, open the folder for the discipline (for example Architectural), and choose Upload drawings. Add one or more PDFs. On the phone: open Documents & drawings, then the project’s drawings, and upload from there.

What happens next:

  1. Uploading. The file goes up. On the web you can see each file’s progress.
  2. Splitting. A multi-page set is split into one sheet per page on our servers (“Splitting 12 of 38 pages”). You can close the page or put the phone away: the rest happens without you.
  3. Reading the title blocks. Konverge reads each sheet’s number and title from its title block. If it isn’t sure of a number, the folder shows sheet numbers to confirm: open them and confirm or correct each one.
  4. Processing. Each sheet is prepared for viewing. A sheet shows Processing tiles… until it’s ready.

When the whole set is ready, Konverge sends one notification, not one per sheet.

How long it takes

Most sets are ready within a few minutes. A big set takes longer, because every page is split, read and prepared. If a set shows Processing is taking longer than usual, leave it a while. If a sheet shows Processing failed, tap Retry on the sheet in the phone app, or upload it again; if it fails again, email support with the project and sheet name.

Upload a new revision

Open the sheet, then Revisions → Upload new revision (upload from the current revision). A revision replaces one sheet, so it must be a one-page PDF.

  1. Add the revision details: the revision code as on the title block (for example C03), What changed (“Door D12 moved 300 mm east”) and the suitability (S0 Work in progress to A Authorised and accepted). Some projects require a suitability code on every revision.
  2. Choose what to carry forward. Ticked pins move to the new revision with their comments and links. Ticked markups are copied; the originals stay on the old revision. Or Skip to carry nothing.

The old revision is kept in the sheet’s history, marked Superseded, and anyone who opens it is told a newer revision exists. Restore as new revision brings an older drawing back as the newest one. Compare shows two revisions overlaid, side by side, swiped or flickered, or with the differences in colour.

Limits

  • PDFs only, up to 50 MB each. Split a bigger set into several PDFs.
  • A password-protected PDF can’t be split: save an unprotected copy and upload that.
  • A set with a very large number of pages may be refused: upload it in parts.
  • Uploading a revision needs a connection.

Good to know

  • Reading title blocks and sheet links uses Konverge’s AI provider, Google. If the company owner turns AI off (Settings → AI on the web), sheets are still split and prepared for viewing, but sheet links and views aren’t found, and more sheet numbers may need confirming by hand. See The assistant and AI features.
  • If your company is read-only (for example after a trial ends), new revisions can’t be uploaded until the subscription is renewed.
