Search the workspace
On the web, press Ctrl + K (⌘ + K on a Mac) from anywhere to open Jump to: type a page name to go there, or two or more letters to search records. Or open Search for the full results page, where you can narrow to one kind of record.
On the phone, open Search and type. It looks across your whole workspace.
Search finds projects, tasks, snags, daily logs, drawings, documents, change orders, estimates, contacts, transactions and messages, by their names, numbers and text. It matches whole words first, then parts of words, so “D12” finds door D12 and “plaster” finds “plasterboard”.
Search inside documents and drawings
In a project’s Documents & drawings search, results come in bands:
- Matches: names and numbers that match.
- In the document text: files whose contents mention it. Konverge reads the text of every PDF and image uploaded, so a specification clause or a note on a drawing can be found even if the file name doesn’t say so.
- Views & details: the views on the drawings (plans, sections, details) that match, with their scale. Tap one to open the sheet zoomed to that view.
- Related: other files that are likely to be relevant.
Filter to All, Documents or Drawings.
Ask for a detail
You can also ask the assistant in plain words: “the parapet detail on the north elevation”, “where’s the fire stopping detail for the riser?”. It finds the drawing view and opens it. See The assistant and AI features.
Without signal
Offline, the phone searches the drawings it already has listed, under Drawings on this phone. Only sheets saved on the phone open in full. Documents and the rest of the workspace need a connection.
Good to know
- You only ever see results you’re allowed to open. If you expect something and it isn’t there, check with an owner or admin that you’re on the project and have the right area switched on.
- Money (transactions) only appears in search for people with See money figures.
- Reading the text of uploaded files, and finding views on drawings, use Konverge’s AI provider, Google. The company owner can turn AI off for the company in Settings → AI on the web; search then still matches file names, drawing numbers, descriptions and categories. See The assistant and AI features.
